Jade eggs are an ancient Daoist tool to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, activate sexual energy, regulate lubrication, connection with your pelvic floor. The pelvic floor is a web of muscles and connective tissue that hold up our internal organs and control the urethra, vaginal canal, and anus. A strong pelvic floor guards against organ prolapse, urinary and fecal incontinence, intensifies orgasms, and keeps our vitality from leaking out.

Working with your pelvic floor is also about more than building physical health or enhancing sexuality. It is an opportunity to connect with and heal your feminine creative energy. Most women amass shame and trauma in their vaginas and wombs (from birthing children, from unconscious lovers, from unachievable standards of beauty, from sexual violence, etc.). Cleansing & Maintenance

When you purchase new eggs you will want to sterilize them. Add eggs with 1 part plain white vinegar to 4 parts water, to cover, in a pot and bring to a boil. Boil for 10 min. Rinse, dry, and store in a clean place. Be sure to clean your eggs thoroughly after each use. Wash with a gentle cleanser that is safe for use on your genitals, and/or place in boiling water with or without vinegar.

Infusing Your Intention & Creating Ritual

Prior to using your eggs for the first time, go into meditation. Hold your eggs your heart and infuse them with your intention; whether it be for spiritual growth, more love, more passion, healing, etc. See them energized with this intention. It is important to make this connection as every time you use them.

Create a special place and time for your practice. Take a moment to see yourself as a loving and loveable being. Feel honor for womb and vagina as a symbol of the procreative power in the universe. In time the only people you will allow into your life will be those who share this reverence for you, because you consistently hold it for yourself.

How to Insert Your Egg

Select the appropriate sized egg. If unsure, begin with the medium one. Thread the hole in the egg with plain dental floss and tie the ends together. Keep this knot outside the body. This is so you can safely remove the egg like a tampon.

You can either lie down with your knees bent or stand with your knees hip width apart and slightly bent, in horse stance. (If you are standing be sure to stand on soft flooring in case the egg drops out). Place the large end of the egg in first. Insert slowly, imagining drawing the egg in with your vaginal muscles. Use a natural lubricant as necessary.

Basic Exercises

Once the egg is inside the vagina you can do the following exercises:

  1. Squeeze the egg tightly for a count of 8, then fully relax for a count of 8. Repeat 20 times.
  2. Move the egg up your vaginal canal. At first you will be using your imagination.
  3. Move the egg down your vaginal canal.

Do not judge yourself. It takes time to develop control over these muscles.

Adding Weights

Once the basic exercises become easy you are ready to progress to adding weights. Adding weights activates the muscles more intensely and leads to better muscle control. Stand in horse stance (feet hip width apart, knees slightly bent). The activation of the legs and gluteal muscles help activate the pelvic floor. Thread dental floss through your egg as before. This time tie the ends of the floss to a light weight. For example, place the other 2 eggs in their pouch and tie to the floss. Start light until you get comfortable and progress slowly.

  1. Place the jade egg in your vagina as before, holding the floss so that your body does not feel the weight.
  2. Tighten your vaginal muscles as you slowly release the floss. Hold for a count of 5.
  3. Hold the floss again relieving the weight from your vagina. Relax for a count of 10.
  4. Again, tighten your vaginal muscles as you slowly release the floss. Hold for a count of 5.
  5. Hold the floss again relieving the weight from your vagina. Relax for a count of 10.
  6. Repeat until your muscles begin to fatigue. If you feel any discomfort, stop immediately and consult your doctor.
